Alisson injury update could see the Liverpool star 'out for a long while' after Palace knock
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson was forced off through injury against Crystal Palace with pundit TNT Sports Peter Crouch fearing the worst for the Brazilian
Liverpool's shot-stopper Alisson could be out "for a long while" after he was forced off against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot's squad edged ahead by four points in the Premier League after nipping a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park, all thanks to Diogo Jota's early 9th-minute strike.
Sadly, the celebration was marred by another knock for their Brazilian No.1. Alisson's game ended prematurely with just 11 minutes remaining he hit the deck, visibly in agony over his hamstring, and then made way for substitute Vitezslav Jaros.
Chatting on TNT Sports, Peter Crouch voiced his alarm for the 32-year-old's plight. "You could see that he knew straight aways," uttered the former Liverpool forward.
"When a player reacts like that straight away you know it is a bad one. I'm really concerned for him. Alisson looks distraught in front of us here. That's the one bad thing about today for Liverpool, losing Alisson. Because that could be a long while now," reports the Express.
However, visiting boss Arne Slot showed his resilience post-match, backing decision to thrust Jaros into his Liverpool premiere. "We trust him a lot and he wanted to go on," he stated.
"He wanted playing time again. He won the league and the cup where he was in Austria last season (with Sturm Graz) so we trust him a lot and he wanted to go.
"I think today proved that we were right to give him a chance. And I think it was a really nice moment for him to come on and see the game out as well."
