Bigfoot is back as sightings rocket and paranormal hunters warn “something big” is coming
The notorious paranormal hotspot of Cannock Chase has come under the spotlight again with more ghosty sightings in the last eight weeks than the whole of last year
Bigfoot is back - and he has brought a host of suspected ghouls and demons with him. Paranormal experts fear “something really big” will hit in the coming months after it emerged there have been more ghosty sightings in the last eight weeks compared to the whole of 2025 in one of Britain’s spookiest spots.
The area of Cannock Chase has come under the spotlight again - after a flurry of gruesome glimpses of horror creatures were reported. Ghost boffins say there has been a flurry of activity in the West Midland woods, and say they fear this could just be the start.
In 2025 there were around 30 sightings of something resembling Bigfoot, but since the start of the year, experts have already received more than 35.
Professional ghosthunter Robert Pulme revealed: “Cannock Chase is considered one of the most haunted places in Britain, so it is no surprise the area draws in lots of rumours for beasts and ghouls.
“And this year it has gone wild. January and February has had more reports of paranormal sightings than for the whole of 2025 combined. People are reporting seeing giant footprints, and visions of a tall and hairy figure lurking in the shadows.
“Our teams of paranormal experts are doing our best trying to get evidence of all this, but the weather is not making it easy. The rain is washing away all evidence, but Bigfoot is not thought to be stupid - it probably knows it is safer to venture out more in the terrible weather.”
And they say that it isn’t only Bigfoot to fear, adding that they believe that the beast has company in the form of the “evil spirits”, who keep spooking local dog walkers.
“We have had lots of reports of a ‘black eyed girl’ seen walking around - at first she appears like a normal girl, and walkers are worried a little girl is lost in the woods, he added.
“Then they see her eyes and she just disappears. It is terrifying people.”
Roberts says it is believed the black eyed ghost children are local victims who previously died of a diphtheria outbreak in the 1800s, with the disease making their eyes appear sunken and dark.
But other tales say the evil eyed youngster ghouls are the angry victims of killer Raymond Morris, who murdered three children in the area between 1965 and 1967.
Robert continued: “There is no way of knowing, but we are monitoring the area. We just don’t know whether we are going to find the children ghosts or Bigfoot first.
Online discussion platform Reddit has been fined more than £14 million by the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office after the watchdog found the company failed to use children’s personal information lawfully.
Another paranormal investigator Lee Brickley has written a book on the mysteries around Cannock Chase, called ‘A Ghost Hunter’s Guide to Cannock Chase’, and has also told of the ghostly sightings he has been told of and said there is a fear these spirits are “getting braver”.
He added: “What makes these encounters particularly significant is the physical interaction. Most sightings describe visual and auditory experiences, but we have seen some more regular ones where the entity physically touched someone.
“This raises numerous questions about the nature of these sightings and the possible dangers they pose.”
