Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag ignore each other after Man Utd thrashing
Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag appeared to completely blank each other as the Portuguese megastar left the pitch following Manchester United's embrassment at the hands of Brentford
There was no love lost between Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the pair seemingly ignoring each other on Saturday evening.
Manchester United had just been embarrassed by Brentford - who found the net four times in the opening half. And after the final whistle sounded, Ronaldo stormed off the pitch without even making eye contact with his new Dutch boss.
Ten Hag seemed unfazed by Ronaldo walking past too, and the Dutchman continued to stare onto the field without looking at the 37-year-old. Ten Hag had handed Ronaldo his first start of the season on Saturday after missing out on a large chunk of pre-season.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ronaldo was also involved in a bust-up with Ten Hag's assistant Steve McClaren.
A delegation led by David De Gea, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek and Diogo Dalot went over to applaud the away fans. Captain Harry Maguire also applauded the fans from a distance.
The Red Devils now find themselves at the bottom of the pile after defeats to Brighton and Brentford.
And United now face Liverpool next weekend in a fixture that will Jurgen Klopp's side licking their lips at the prospect of facing the under-firing side.
