A 'cursed' painting of a young girl has been linked to a series of spooky events after a tourist attraction in London decided to purchase it as a prop for £1,600

Staff at a tourist attraction in London reckon a "cursed" painting of a young girl might be responsible for a series of mishaps they have faced.

The London Bridge Experience - an immersive walk-through attraction that combines history with horror - purchased the unnerving portrait as a prop for £1,600. And since then, chaos has ensued.

The Sun reports cameras and TVs have become faulty at the site, and the Wifi has stopped working. Tech teams who were called to resolve the issues couldn't find a cause. Moreover, manager James Kislingbury's car broke down when he was driving to collect the painting. He has also since injured his collar bone.

Staff member Shannon Fagan even spoke of how she spotted a ghostly figure in a black skirt while at work. She told The Sun: "We searched on eBay for some props for our new show and came across the portrait. It sort of lured James in.

"When he went into the previous owner’s home the dog was going mad and on his way back his car started having issues. We’ve had it for a month now and things have gotten worse since we unwrapped it for the shoe and placed it on the wall."

Despite the spooky goings-on Shannon said there are no plans to ditch the painting, with staff at the London Bridge Experience apparently used to unusual "activity".

The painting, by an unknown artist, was previously returned to a charity shop on two occasions.

It was first donated to the Hastings Advice Representation Centre shop in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, along with a bundle of other pictures and frames. It was snapped up by a woman for just £25 but she returned it two days later, telling shop manager Steve it had "an aura about it".

Steve then put it back on display with a sign saying it was "possibly cursed". It was then bought and returned by another woman who said she "never wanted to see the damned thing again". She was "terrified" and "came back shaky and distressed", Steve said.

It was again put back in the shop window, alongside a new sign that read: "She’s back! Sold twice and returned twice! Are you brave enough?''
