At least five people have been injured in a serious incident in Dublin this afternoon. Irish media are reporting it to be a stabbing.
Emergency services swarmed to the scene near Parnell Square East, on the northside of Dublin, shortly after 1pm today (Thursday, November 23).

Emergency services have responded to a serious incident in Dublin this afternoon (Thursday, November 23) that left three children and two adults injured - Irish news outlets have described the incident as a 'stabbing'
An Garda Síochána said an adult male, an adult female and three young children have been taken to various hospitals in the Dublin region.
One of the children, a girl, and the adult female are seriously injured. The man and the two other children were treated for less serious injuries, and the scene remains closed off.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Five casualties have been taken to various hospitals in the Dublin region. The casualties include an adult male, an adult female and three young children.
“One child, a girl, has sustained serious injuries, the other two children are being treated for less serious injuries. An Garda Siochana is in contact with parents of all three injured children.”
Irish news outlets report that a suspect was arrested and treated at the scene for injuries. Garda say they are following a "definite line of inquiry" and are not looking for any other person at this time.
The Irish Times spoke to a witness who reported a "man" was "seen attacking a group of young people with a knife". Video footage from the scene, which is near a school, showed several Garda vehicles and ambulances had arrived.
Irish Justice Minister Helen McEntee said: “All our thoughts are with those injured, especially with the children, their parents and families, during this extremely difficult period. I have been briefed by the Garda Commissioner and will remain in close contact with him and senior Gardaí.
“It is my understanding that Gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry and are not looking for any other person at this time. This attack has shocked us all, and I have no doubt that the person responsible will be brought to justice."
