Hurricane Ian has caused devastation and terrible damage to parts of Florida, and one bloke has had to bid farewell to his McLaren P1, with the million-pound car washed away during a flood

Harsh and unremitting weather caused by Hurricane Ian has seen a £1million McLaren washed out of a garage and down the road.

Devastating damage has been caused by the Florida, United States hurricane, and it appears the financial damage for one unlucky car enthusiast is going to be horrifying.

Footage shared on social media shows homes being destroyed, roads flooded with water and now people have spotted a supercar pushed out of a garage and away down the street.

Millions have been affected and many are fleeing to other parts of the state to escape the horrendous damage, which has since swiped up a supercar owned by a man named Ernie.

Ernie, who recently purchased the supercar and owns a fleet of expensive motors, would regularly share updates to his followers on Instagram account.

But his pride and joy, a McLaren P1 supercar valued at over £1million, was seen to have been washed out into the street and fell victim to Hurricane Ian.

Taking to his Instagram, Ernie took a photo of his prized possession and wrote: "Car went thru the garage."

Other posts to Ernie's account showed the damage Hurricane Ian was doing to his neighbour's homes and surrounding area.

A number of users took to wish Ernie well, with one writing: "Stay safe, cars are replaceable."

Another said: "I'm so sorry... most important that you and your family are safe. Sending prayers."

Hurricane Ian has been categorised as the fifth-strongest storm in Florida's history, with winds of up to 150mph battering the area, with residents ordered to evacuate the south-west region.

Ian Hawver, a handyman from Fort Myers who planned on waiting out the storm, abandoned his plan, was reported by LADBible as saying: "I just don’t see the advantage of sitting there in the dark, in a hot house, watching water come in your house."
