Lionesses star Beth England has been missing her normal pre-match meal while on international duty for the Women's World Cup - but Heinz have swopped in with a masterplan

Beth England is set for the surprise of her life when her mum flies over from the UK with two suitcases full of Heinz Baked Beans.

Speaking at the Euros last summer, the Lionesses star revealed her favourite meal was beans on toast - and she tries to have it before every game. However, England has had to go without the iconic dish Down Under during the Women's World Cup, leading to her mum Lisa jetting over to Australia.

Lisa said: “I’m so proud of Bethany and the entire team for getting through to the last 16. And when Heinz suggested she might be missing both her mum and her favourite pre-match meal, I jumped at the chance to bring Bethany her favourite beans down under.

“She’s always been a simple food kind of child, so beans on toast was a staple meal for her growing up. Even in her younger years, she would have beans on toast as a pre-match meal, and now it’s stuck with her.

“She’s a total home bird, so she’ll be over the moon that I’m able to bring her some home comforts to help power her through the next game. We really do love beans in our family, and of course, when it comes to beans, it has to be Heinz!”

And Lucy Cooke, from Heinz, said: "We’d hate for Bethany not to have her favourite pre-match beans on toast before the next big game. And Beanz Meanz Heinz!

"So, it made total sense to help get Lisa over to Adelaide with a suitcase of our beans to surprise Bethany with. We can’t wait to see the power of the humble bean driving her through the rest of the championship! Come on England!"

The Lionesses are back in action on Monday morning - as they face Nigeria with a spot in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on the line.
