After a month-long search with over 140,000 votes cast, Mohamed Salah has been crowned winner of Reach Sport's Premier League Fans' Footballer of the Year for the second year in a row

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has been voted as the winner of Reach Sport's Premier League Fans' Footballer of the Year for the second year running.

Over 140,000 voters made their pick from the nine-man shortlist of players who have excelled in England's top-flight in 2021.

After a month-long search, Salah retained his 2020 crown, beating Declan Rice who came second and Bruno Fernandes in third.

Manchester City and Chelsea stars dominated the rest of the best, with Phil Foden, Edouard Mendy, Mason Mount, Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne and Jorginho rounding off the top nine.

A further 11 players who missed out on the shortlist after our initial journalist vote made up the final list of 20.

Salah was hot favourite to pick up the gong after a scintillating year for Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

He may have missed out on the Ballon d'Or, but the Egyptian King has been right up there with the world's best.

So far in 2021/22 he has become the highest-scoring African player in Prem history and equalled Jamie Vardy’s record of scoring or assisting in 15 consecutive Prem games.

Despite the wealth of quality there is in England, Salah was a shoe-in for the prize and it's no wonder Liverpool are desperate to tie him down to a new contract.

Will Salah make it a hat-trick next year? Give us your prediction in the comments section.

West Ham and England midfielder Rice was voted runner-up in our FFOTY poll following an exceptional year for club and country.

His dominant presence in the middle of the park was not only crucial to the Euro 2020 run to the final, but has also been a key component for the Hammers making great strides forward.

They've broken the dominance of the Premier League top six, and are on the charge in the Europa League.

Like Salah, Rice's club are hoping he will turn down the attention from interested parties that his form has garnered.

Despite Manchester United's shaky start to their campaign, Fernandes' individual brilliance last season earned him a third-placed finish.

His goals and assists, of which there were plenty, helped the Red Devils to second in the table and they narrowly missed out on Europa League glory.

The winners of the league, City, and Champions League victors, Chelsea, unsurprisingly had a number of their stars follow closely behind.

The top 20 of Reach Sport's Premier League Fans' Footballer of the Year is as follows:

Mohamed Salah
Declan Rice
Bruno Fernandes
Phil Foden
Edouard Mendy
Mason Mount
Ruben Dias
Kevin De Bruyne
Jorginho
