UK weather maps show more snow coming today as Brits face 8-inch Arctic blast tomorrow
Weather modelling maps bring bad news for those sick of the recent cold snap with more snow tracked to blast millions of Brits both today (Tuesday, March 14) and tomorrow (Wednesday, March 15)
Brits ought to be bracing for more snow today (Tuesday, March 14) and tomorrow (Wednesday, March 15) with up to eight inches on the way.
A number of yellow Met Office weather warnings for snow and ice remain in place today, encompassing almost all the UK north of Birmingham.
Most of those are set to expire at 11am although it waits to be seen if extensions or fresh weather warnings will be issued.
According to advanced weather modelling maps from WX Charts, a new snow front is due to sweep down the country today.
It is tracked to hit the Scottish Highlands this morning before moving southward and bringing flurries to Northern Ireland, northern parts of England, Wales and the Midlands in the afternoon.
Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham are just some of the cities that could be impacted.
Luckily, flurries aren't expected to be too intense. WX Charts' data shows around one inch settling on the ground in northern England, with around five in the Scottish Highlands but none elsewhere.
The snow is tracked to move off into the North Sea as we move into tomorrow.
WX Charts' maps show most of Wednesday to be clear for almost all the country, but a massive weather front is expected to move in from the west in the evening.
Intense flurries are expected to blast over Northern Ireland, northern parts of England and almost all of Scotland, with some regions seeing snowfall at a rate of 3cm per hou
The snow is set to be followed by heavy rain, which could wash the white stuff away in lowland regions.
WX Charts' data still shows that eight inches could be settled on the ground in the Scottish Highlands by Thursday morning (March 16).
The Met Office has told people under the yellow warnings: "Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
"Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
"Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
