Five transfers Liverpool could complete before the end of the window – including Isak
Liverpool have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window to date and the Reds could continue their incredible spending, potentially adding to their £321million splash
Liverpool have been the busiest club in the summer transfer window, and their enormous spending could continue.
Arne Slot’s side lifted the Premier League title in May but it’s been a summer of change at Anfield in terms of personnel with the Reds’ summer spending surging to £321million with the addition of Giovanni Leoni.
The Italian defender’s arrival followed the £116m British record transfer fee for Florian Wirtz and £79m deal for striker Hugo Ekitike. While £70m was spent on overhauling the full-back positions on Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
With less than two weeks until the deadline, Liverpool could still secure more signings, with the Reds heavily linked to Newcastle’s wantaway striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi. But sales may be required to fund any late deals.
Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at five Liverpool transfers that could be completed before the end of the window.
Alexander Isak
Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak has turned into a saga in the north-east with the Sweden striker effectively going on strike to force through a move.
The Reds saw a £110m bid rejected by the Magpies earlier this month but it’s unclear whether they will return with a new bid closer to Newcastle’s £150m valuation.
This is a transfer that could run right up until the deadline if neither side can find a compromise beforehand.
Marc Guehi
Palace’s captain has just 12 months left on his current Eagles deal, meaning something has to give.
The Eagles have set a price tag of £40m this summer given his contract situation and his reported uninterest in signing an extension at Selhurst Park. Liverpool have been hoping the closer they get to the deadline, Palace might drop their valuation.
Speaking after the Community Shield win, chairman Steve Parish admitted Guehi’s future must be resolved, he said: "For players of that calibre to leave on a free, it's a problem for us unfortunately.
"Joachim [Andersen] went [to Fulham last summer] and we couldn't afford to lose both. We then had another bid [for Guehi] in January but that was a different situation. We'll just have to see what happens. But, you know, it needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind."

Harvey Elliott’s future at his boyhood club remains uncertain with the Reds open to offers of £40m for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Kostas Tsimikas
Another player pushed to the fringes at Anfield, Kostas Tsimikas is now the third-choice left-back at the club.
The Greece international was absent from the first squad of the season against the Cherries.
And he is reportedly on Nottingham Forest's radar, with the Reds willing to let go of a player not in Slot's plans.
Stefan Bajcetic
Once the golden boy of Liverpool’s midfielder, Stefan Bajcetic’s miserable run of injuries and poor form on loan leaves him staring at an exit.
The 20-year-old won’t be available until the end of August after undergoing surgery on another injury issue.
But he could make another exit either on loan or permanently to get his career back on track.
